About
It has been suggested by some that I update my “about” page. So I’m updating it.
I am a displaced Texan living in Ohio. Okay, I’m a 46-year-old menopausal, misplaced Texan living in Ohio. I have three kids, ages 26, 22 and 14 (can we say “Oops?” I adore him anyway). My Beloved has 2 daughters, ages 21 and 17. We are NOT the Brady Bunch.
Our license plate says “Weirdos.” If “Completely Whacked Out” would have fit, it would say that. If that doesn’t tell you something about us, well then, nothing will. But we pride ourselves on it.
And I thought I’d expand on this – it seems everyone else has a much more comprehensive “profile page” (mine started out simply saying “I’m cold”). Here is a description of the characters that will be making frequent appearances. The names have been changed to protect the guilty.
Beloved – aka My Husband, or The Ol’ Ball and Chain. Beloved is an opinionated workaholic, handsome and often generous to a fault. We go together like cheese and crackers. Moldy cheese and stale crackers, but still. I had to revise this due to the growing popularity of my spouse with my readers. He’s a keeper. *wink*
Oldest Son – rather self explanatory. He’s cool; he is on his own, works two jobs, pays his bills on time, votes and rarely, if ever, asks me for money. Yes, he’s very cool.
Darling Daughter – is beautiful, talented, witty, charming and has the middle-child syndrome in spades. She seems to be intent on coasting through life in the easiest manner (for her) possible, which is a category unto itself in Schtuff That Drives Me Bananas. However, she is now gainfully employed, so we’ll see how it goes.
The Young One – my baby, whom I am desperate to get through middle school. I’ve had enough of middle school. <update>He is now through middle school – I am stunned. And thrilled. Mostly thrilled. But still stunned. </update> He is the apple of everyone’s eye and it’s nothing short of amazing that he isn’t spoiled completely rotten. He’s not though, and when I’m not worried about his complete disinterest in most food (something he did NOT get from my side of the family), he keeps us in stitches.
Jolly – Beloved’s oldest. She is just gave us our first grandchild on August 15!
Little Guy – Our first grandchild. I’m sure you’ll be reading lots more about him. LOTS more.
Miss Jacki – Beloved’s youngest, Miss Jacki is entering her senior year in high school as an honor student. We are SO proud of her!
Scooter – our four-legged child and the most important member of the family. And his name really IS Scooter; I did not name him.
I work with my Beloved, helping him run his software company – I am in charge of the bookkeeping, the website, the email, the human resources, the ecommerce division, the marketing division…I’m busy.
